2nd Computer Hardware & Networking Certification Program under SKILL INDIA Mission


 

Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES) in collaboration with National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship organised a second 40 Hours free certificate program on Computer Hardware & Networking from 6th to 23rd December 2016 at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) campus. The program was conceptualized under the guidance of Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Founder & Chief Advisor of MATES and coordinated by Prof. R. S Gupta with the support from Mr. Ravi Gupta, consultant – Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (MATES). 20 Youth from the underprivileged category families were the participants. Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) supervised this course under the monitoring of Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Sharma, Director MAIT. Mr. Manoj Kumar & Mr. Praveen Saini was the course trainer who devotedly trained the students. On completion, all the successful participants got NIESBUD certificate in a small ceremony in the auspicious presence of MATES board of trustees, Director General & Director MAIT & MAIMS and other senior people by the Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Founder & Chief Advisor – MATES.

 

 

 

Smart India Hackathon 2017


AICTE has started a campaign for upgrading the standards of technical education in India and formulate multiple schemes for welfare of students, faculties and institutions like creating the Startup Policy, Smart India Hackathon 2017 and Project Swayam. In the series, campaign of Smart India Hackathon 2017 started with the first LEADERSHIP TALK by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, Organizing Committee, Smart India Hackathon 2017 and Chairman, AICTE on Dec 16, 2016 at 2.00 PM via Facebook Live also available at https://www.facebook.com/InclusiveInnovations/.  About 90 faculty and staff members at MAIT attended the live session in Room no 114 of CSE department. The agenda of the session included an address by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe for 45 minutes followed by an open forum session during which students and staff members were free to pose their questions through facebook and get clarity on Smart India Hackathon 2017.

For the enhancement of the quality of technical education, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology registered for Smart India Hackathon 2017 contest for students under the guidance of Prof  M L Goyal (Director General). Dr Namita Gupta, HOD (CSE) has been appointed as ACITE -College SPOC  (AICTE-College Single Point Of Contact) to share AICTE related various schemes with Institute students and faculty members.

Students of all B.Tech disciplines are motivated to participate in the contest. For students guidance, coordinators from each department are nominated: Dr Bhoomi Gupta (IT), Mr  Ashish Khanna (CSE), Mr  Hemant Tulsani (ECE), Mr Sheersh Garg (EEE) and Mr R.C.  Saini (MAE). 


Software Training under Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay


 

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Maharaja Agrasen institute of Technology, Delhi, successfully organized a training programme for popular software used by ECE department students like Scilab, C language and OSCAD for IVth and VIth semester students. The event was an initiative by the Spoken Tutorial project, IIT Bombay.

The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the "Talk to a Teacher" project of the National Mission on Education through Information Communication through Technology, launched by MHRD, Govt of India to promote IT literacy through open source software. 114 students have been already awarded certificates. This initiative will enhance the programming skills of the students enabling them to become sound technocrats. Spoken Tutorials project aims to create spoken tutorials which teach free and open source software (FOSS) in many Indian languages. The idea is to teach software(s) in a language that the learner is comfortable in. Our goal is that the spoken tutorial learning object be used to teach any software in any language and any difficulty level learner - Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.

This project is for the community and by the community. Project aims to get like-minded individuals to collaborate with each other to create spoken tutorials dubbed into as many Indian languages as possible. Primary aims of the project include: Reach out to as many people as possible to spread the awareness of the portal so that people can learn and contribute; Build up the community so that the portal will be self-sustaining; Channelize a way through your contacts to reach out to the people who could learn and contribute.
